Directions

I've lived here on Emerald Aisle Farm for 44 years.  In that time the name has been changed from Hardpan Hill Farm to Emerald Aisle Farm and the address has changed three times.  Most people can find this place by using Google Maps and the address 681 SE Pine Rd, Port Orchard, 98367, but that will only get you to the entrance of what is now called Wild Tree Ave.  Yes, we now have a street sign.  My current actual address is 14132 Wild Tree Ave, Port Orchard, 98367.  I don't use the USPS so I don't have a mailbox so I don't show up on the GPS yet.

If you are coming from Tacoma or anywhere else on the other side of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, these are the best instructions for you.  If you are coming from this side of the bridge start following the directions at exit 20.

From I5 take Highway 16 to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.  (Toward Gig Harbor, Bremerton, Port Orchard)

After crossing the Narrows Bridge you will stay on Highway 16 to Exit 20 (Google Maps will probably route you through Purdy.  This skips Purdy)

If you are coming from Tacoma take a left at the stop sign.  If you are coming from Bremerton take a right at the stop sign.

At the next stop sign take a left on Bethel-Burley.

In about 1 mile take a right on Pine Rd.

There are two humps in the hill.  Almost at the top of the 2nd hump take a right on Wild Tree Ave.

Drive in about 1/4 mile.  On the left there are two address signs at my entrance.  One is 14132 and the other 681 along with the name DAVIS.  This entrance brings you in by the house.  If you pass this entrance and take the next left you will enter between the chicken house and the tool shed.  Drive forward to find a parking space.

From This:
To This

The repairs are nearly complete!  I am grateful that the fire was not worse.  I am grateful that I have home insurance.  I am grateful that I have a new chimney, a new hot water tank, and will have a new wood stove.  I am grateful that nobody was harmed in the fire.

Google Keep Solution found today

I know it has been a long time since I've been here.  I have been practicing patience and tolerance for my current life experience.   Without going into detail, I can safely say that I am finding greater strength inside of me as I rise from the ashes.

Today's problem is minor compared to many of my issues but one of the most powerful tools I have activated over the last two years has been Google Keep.  I can write notes, search notes, take pictures of things, archive notes, and basically keep my entire life organized by using Keep both on my android phone and my PC.

For several weeks Google Chrome freezes up when I open Google Keep.  I continued to search for problems with Keep but finally stumbled over an article about Chrome extensions.  I went into the extensions and deleted several extensions that made absolutely no difference.  I finally noticed a on/off button in the lower right corner of each extension and turned them all to off.  I still don't know if one or all are the culprit.  But I have opened Keep 5 times with no problem.  I even rebooted the computer and all seems to be right again.

During this entire time, I have had NO trouble with Keep on my Android.

Chicken follows pitbull

A suspicious looking chicken.  This pretty pitbull with her sparkly collar is rodent hunting.  In the process she digs.  The chickens love it.

The Eggs are in the Incubator!

The eggs will start hatching September 11, 2017.  I start a new batch of chickens every three years so that I can have a consistent flow of fresh eggs.
